Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Without help, some problems can persist.
Private conversations with yourself, internal complicated difficulties that most likely only you know about, are disruptive more often than you would like to admit.
It isn’t that life is not good. So much goodness has come your way. You have worked diligently, and your life shows it.
However, attempts to solve this problem on your own have only intensified frustrations, resentments, disappointments, and confusion.
Perhaps you are thinking: “Talk therapy was a good place to feel temporary relief because I could confide in another. But the issues remain the same, maybe a bit worse, to be honest.”

Unresolved issues create relational problems with others.
Brenda* loves her family and her profession. Yet she struggles with disappointments with friends and family.
Her internal conversations about this, as well as talks with people she depends upon only lead to more frustration. She senses that her requests of close ones cannot be met, having to do with old emotional wounds that nobody can solve.
She believes she has come to terms with her childhood and loves her family of origin. And yet, now and then, she realizes that the feelings she has in her current relationships echo feelings of not being fully met at home long ago. Because she cannot clearly identify precisely what is disturbing her, and what she wants to replace this upset with peace and ease, she feels trapped in her own anguish some days.
With the help of IFS, Brenda finds relief and new ease within herself. Aspects of self in conflict learn to work together. She feels more whole. As she feels better inside herself, she attracts new types of friendships and a fiance who meet her in wonderful ways. Internally she has far more joy. Her life and relationships support her peace.
The past can impact current relationships.
When we face this kind of past trauma experience, there is something life is calling us to do. Life, God, Goddess has a plan, and it truly doesn’t have to disrupt our lives.
We don’t need to know what it is. We need to heal the old wounds so there is space for the new plan to grow naturally.
We may think we need something from another person when it is a refresh with God, the universe, or ourselves that beckons first. From here, relationships change and shift as new relationships naturally arrive.
As we use IFS to discover the different aspects of ourselves that are at the core, all pointing toward the embrace and healing we need, we are liberated. Freedom of the heart, mind, and emotions follows.

How does IFS work?
As your therapist, I will help you discover aspects of yourself that conflict with one another. You will receive support in helping each of these self-aspects find respect and validation, so new coping mechanisms, communication, and fulfillment can emerge.
The various parts will become a happy, collaborative team, bringing peace and ease to your heart and mind.
You can expect to feel lighter and rediscover the motivation you’ve been hiding under grief. Depending on your beliefs, you will receive new and working support from whatever external Higher Power is part of your belief system.
Find a resolution to the underlying problems.
Using IFS, we will engage in exercises that help you naturally unwind old hurts, so that self-love and God’s love can be felt. This tends to enhance love for everyone close to us!
My goal is to help you find new tranquility by reaching into yourself for the passion you left behind.
Your heart can mend. Let’s work together to help you find a new path to peace of mind and better relationships.
My services are offered online. If you want to know more about IFS, please get in touch with me.
